As extreme weather events and large-scale natural disasters occur with increasing frequency around the world, addressing climate change is recognized as an important global issue, and the importance of decarbonization efforts continues to grow. The Group is promoting a variety of initiatives toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, including introducing solar power generation systems, upgrading to high-efficiency equipment, and reducing energy losses.

Set a new target to reduce the Bando Group’s CO2 emissions by 42% from fiscal 2023 levels by 2033
In May 2026, we set a target of reducing the Bando Group’s CO2 emissions from fuel use and electricity by 42% from fiscal 2023 levels by 2033, toward achieving carbon neutrality by reducing the Bando Group’s CO2 emissions to virtually zero by 2050.
As companies around the world are increasingly expected to take action toward decarbonization, in fiscal 2022, we set a target on a non-consolidated basis of reducing our CO2 emissions by 38% from fiscal 2013 levels by 2030 and have since implemented measures based on our roadmap. By setting this new target in line with the 1.5℃ scenario based on the Paris Agreement, we will promote initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions across the entire Bando Group.
Key initiatives to achieve
the reduction target

Introduction of solar power generation systems
Bando Manufacturing (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.
In April 2026, a solar power generation system with a generating capacity of 554.4kW was installed on the plant rooftop. The system supplies electricity equivalent to approximately 26% of the electricity used in the plant and reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 408t- CO2 annually.

Energy loss reduction
Kakogawa Plant
In January 2026, a flash steam recovery device was installed to recover heat from steam condensate. Preheating the water supplied to the boiler reduces fuel consumption and, consequently, CO2 emissions.

Fuel switching
Fukui Belt Industries, Ltd.
In January 2026, the boiler fuel was switched from heavy oil to propane gas. This fuel switch lowers the CO2 emission factor and, consequently, reduces CO2 emissions.

Contribution to CO2 emissions reduction through products
The Group calculates the CO2 reduction contribution of our products under our eco-friendly brand “eco moving.”
Please see here for details on CO2 reduction contribution.

Expanded calculation coverage to include Scope 3 and obtained third-party assurance
Starting in fiscal 2025, the Group expanded the scope of third-party assurance for CO2 emissions to include all Scope 3 categories* across the entire supply chain on a consolidated basis, in addition to Scope 1 and 2, and obtained third-party assurance for the expanded scope in July 2026. We will continue to work to further improve the accuracy of our Scope 3 calculations.
In addition, for Category 1 (Products and services purchased), which accounts for a large share of CO2 emissions by Scope 3 category, we have begun exploring measures to help reduce CO2 emissions, such as reviewing the raw materials we use.
